BBQ at Mitoma Beach..!

Assalammualaikum..

It is so hot and dry when it comes to summer in Japan. Ice creams and kaki goori かき氷 are the best under the hot shinny sun. We planned to have a great holiday before we go back to Malaysia for our summer holiday and at last Khairi decided to drive to a beach that is popular in Fukukoka.

Last summer we went to Mitoma Beach,Fukuoka for a BBQ by the beach. We packed our stuffs night before and everthing was perfect for the BBQ. It took us about one and a half hour to Mitoma Beach from Saga. At first we got lost and couldn't find the beach, then we decided to ask passerby the directions. The direction to Mitoma Beach was quite confusing but we managed to get there!Parking lots are provided so don't worry.. :)

Mitoma Beach is conveniently located just a short trip from the city center, and its lack of facilities means that the sands are fairly clean and there are no huge crowds during the swimming season (just make sure to buy what you need before leaving the city center).
  • Access: About 10 minutes on foot from Mitoma Station on the Nishitetsu Kaizuka Line. You can transfer to the the Kaizuka Line by taking the Hakozaki Subway Line and switching at Kaizuka Station, or taking the JR Kagoshima Main Line (local trains only) and switching at Chihaya Station.

List of things to bring along:
-mats
-bbq stuffs (knives, oil and brush, skewers and etc)
-marinated beef and chicken and seafood, juices, snacks and etc
-bbq set +  charcoal
-tissues, plastics, shades,uchiwa(paper fan)
-clear water for wash, emergency and etc

Remember to bring all the rubbish and litter with you when returning home! Bring along plastic bags to fill rubish and keep the beaches clean :)Remember that there is no stalls or booth or vending machine or convenience stores around there.Which means no shopping or atms nearby.Prepare well is the best..! Unfortunately, the gas station is also located quite far from the beach so it is quite hard for travellers to fill the gas tank if runs out.Bring enough food and water is very essential especially for emergency or got lost.

If you bring along raw food like marinated meat and seafood, remember not to exposed the food under the sun more than an hour so that they will not go bad and rotten.Keep them cool in a cooler box.Opposing the beach, there's a huge forest with fence around. Do be careful of snakes and harmful animals.

Summer in Japan is not a joke.It is hot and dry and the humidity are way low.Remember to bring along creams and sun block if you can.Bring along hats if you want to.The UV index in Japan are quite high and if exposed to direct sunlight for a long period, the risk to get skin cancer will be high.Sometimes it might be windy so bring along a small blanket is not a bad idea.

Happy summer :)
