Celebrating Raya at Fukuoka Zoo (Part one)

Assalammualaikum readers...

We celebrated our Raya at the Fukuoka zoo on the 2nd day of Raya as we have no classes on Thursday.Hohoho. First we had delicious breakfast at the Mister Donut(saga eki).We enjoyed the donuts with various flavours, soba noodles with vegetables broth and glasses of orange juice. The donuts were soft and tasty on the innerside but crispy on the outside and the soba were perfect with the little salty vegetables broth. We then headed to Fukuoka around 9a.m. by bus and arrived at Tenjin by 10.30 a.m. (If you're a student in Japan, buy bus tickets at your Uni's coop at great discounts). You can see lot of posters and pictures of the animal in Fukuoka zoo along the train station underground alley. After arriving at Tenjin, walk ahead to Yakuin Odori bus stand and hop on bus number 56 or 58 to get to Fukuoka Zoo.In Japan, the schedule board on the bus stand are mostly in Japanese(Kanji),so for tourists who can't read kanji will feel a little bit inconvenient to check out the time for busses. However, you can just ask someone around if you wish to.

It took us about 10 minutes(190 yen per person) to get to Fukuoka Zoo from Yakuin Odori by bus.At the front part of the zoo,you can either buy the entrance ticket (600 yen per person) using the self vending machine or at the ticket counter. At the entrance of the gate, you'll need to pass your entrance ticket to the worker there. There's an information centre and and place to hire a stroller for kids(babies) on the left, right after you enter the gate. We grabbed a map(in Japanese) and planned our journey wisely so that we will not missed any animal that we should visit.. Hihi.. *true animals lover^^ * The whole entire zoo are actually divided into two big parts, one is the Animal Kingdom part and another part is for the Botanical Garden. You can either enjoy both parts on the same day(we took about 4 hours visiting whole park) or you can enjoy one side of the park and come back for another park on other day :)

We first entered the north park zone and met so many interesting animals there. We first saw  many cuddly penguins (Papua New Guinea penguins) in a spacious area. There were so many things to see and explore there. The compound was clean and environmental friendly. You can have rest and enjoy the bento(food) at the huts or resting areas that are provided there.Vending machines and water pipes for washing hands are everywhere to ease the visitors. There's plenty of souvenir shops for you to buy gifts and stalls to have good meals there. The animals are kept clean and healthy and the cages are clean and spacious for the animals. Our whole journey was so exciting and fun as the animals were active and we even able to get close shots when taking pictures with the animals. The most fun part was when playing with the leopards. You can hear them roaring and purring while playing and have a very close contact with the cute leopards there. We even watch fierce lion scrumptiously eating a big bone with meat.

What's exciting about this zoo is that you can always learn something new even for an adult. There were so many boards(mostly in Japanese) about the animals and quizzes boards that you can enjoy with kids or friends. There's even a slope car for you to ride(free of charge) to Botanical Garden. There's an air conditioner working in the slope car when summer. It's hot especially summer in Japan, make sure bring sufficient drinks and caps along when visiting there. The toilets there are clean and everywhere.

We had ice-creams(350yen) and takoyaki(400 yen) there. Free water is provided there.

We can see the engineering around there are brilliant and great.Looking at how the stairs and path are builded there,we just love how the arrangement and the ideas in making the visitors journey more interesting and fun. There's even more fun at the Botanical Garden part. I like the phrase when Khairi said that "Orang Jepun ni memang suka berfikir". The Japanese really do...! Every aspects even the little details are considered so that everyone is satisfied and happy.I don't think there's even a little problem for the disabled to enjoy and having fun there.
